New map to navigate YYC breweries

Lost? Bewildered? Still trapped in one of Calgary’s industrial areas looking for that new must-see taproom that everyone’s raving about on social media?

Fear not, thirsty traveller, and wander no more; a new map of Calgary breweries is now available.

The YYC Brewery Map is a collaboration between Tourism Calgary and the Alberta Small Breweries Association. The map, which handily folds down to fit in your pocket while you walk, ride or drive your way from taproom to taproom, highlights all current breweries that serve beer onsite in the city.

The cool thing about a map like this is that it clearly shows how we are beginning to see very defined areas, or clusters, of breweries developing in the city, similar to other beer hotspot cities such as East Vancouver and Southeast Portland. Banded Peak and Annex Ale Project this week highlighted this point as they announced details of an exciting new collaboration that celebrates the Manchester area of the city. This is awesome for Calgary.

The new maps include a little bit of information about each brewery and also has details on bike paths around each brewery to assist you in your mission to take in all local breweries by bike – a fun pastime if ever there was one, especially when we are celebrating this glorious weather!

The maps are available at all of the breweries featured on the map. Here is what they look like.
