American beer expert Randy Mosher’s homebrew book Mastering Homebrew: The Complete Guide to Brewing Delicious Beer is on sale through Amazon right now for download to a Kindle (or Kindle app on your smartphone) for CAN $3.99.
As an added bonus, when we downloaded the Kindle for iPhone app and connected it to our Amazon account, we were automatically given an $8 credit to our Amazon account for purchasing Kindle books – so really, we got this book for free, with change leftover!
We’re powering our way through Mosher’s book at the moment at Daily Beer HQ. It’s a decent reference guide, with everything from starting your first extract brew, to partial mash, to full grain brewing techniques. It’s an attractive book and well laid out, but not – in our opinion – as good as John Palmer’s brewing bible How to Brew: Everything you need to know to brew beer right the first time.
Also, we prefer hard copy brewing books; it’s nice to thumb through and make notes on in pen, books are easy to lend to friends and there’s no concern with spilling sticky wort on it during the brewing process. That said, $3.99 for the e-book version (or free!) is damned good value, and will last a lot longer than a pint of beer.
